This area of the garden is not about growing the best or most veggies. It's about getting in there, getting your hands dirty and understanding how things can go from a seed, to a plant, and ultimately, to becoming the food you like to eat.
Gardening is experiential. Engaging young people in a fun way in the Mount Forest Community, was a priority from day one.
A few special areas of our Family Garden include:
A messaging mailbox. Kids can check for mail and see if a letter or special surprise has been left for them. They in turn, can leave a message for others. Stationary is left in the mailbox so it's ready to go.
Birdhouses, and fun planter boxes run along the garden.
Most recently, the Mount Forest Firefighter's Association built and donated a large planter and bench for families and others to enjoy.
